Sundridge Triathlon Gives Back

PostHeaderIcon Donation to Community Groups

The RBC Sundridge Triathlon mandated when it began in 2009 to give back a

portion of the proceeds to local community groups to assist in funding capital

cost that would place a financial hardship of the organization.  The RBC

Sundridge Triathlon set up a separate committee consisting of members from

our major sponsorship organizations and one member from the community to

review the requests for funding and decide on the awarded funding.  The

cirteria that the Triathlon Committee had was that a maximum of $500.00

be awarded to individual organizations, the funds be used for capital items

or one time purchases, and  the organizations operate in the P0A 1Z0,

P0A 1X0 region.

In 2010 $1850.00 was awarded to local groups from a portion of the

proceeds of the 2009 Triathlon.

Those groups included:

  • Special Olympics local Athletes - bowling ramp and assistance sending two athletes to the provincials
  • Almaguin Judo Club - assistance to send a child to camp
  • Free Performance by Edge of the Woods Theatre Group
  • Sundridge Strong Youth Baseball - new safety equipment for players

This year $3150.00 has been awarded to local groups from a portion

of the proceeds of the 2010 Triathlon and some funds from the 2009 Triathlon.

After another successful year in 2011 the RBC Sundridge Triathlon is once again giving back to the community.

As a community group that operates and draws its sponsorship from within the P0A 1Z0 and P0A 1X0 postal code area, we would like to invite other groups who operate and provide recreation and/or leisure activities within the P0A 1Z0 and P0A 1X0 postal code area to submit a letter to request financial assistance for capital expenditures.  We request that the monies be used for these types of expenditures to alleviate some of the outlay of funds from their operating budgets. The capital expenditures can be for equipment, team apparel, accessories or provide a service which is not a recurring cost.

In your letter addressed to the RBC Sundridge Triathlon please state;

  • What the cost of the  expenditure is,
  • What age group the expenditure is designed for and
  • How this financial assistance alleviates your day to day operations.

We, as a committee are proud to be able to offer this financial assistance to other groups and hope to be able to do so in future years based on the future financial success of the RBC Sundridge Triathlon.

We would like to thank our many sponsors and participants for enabling us to give back to the communities that supported and contributed to the success of this event.

The deadline for consideration of letters will be December 1, 2011.

The maximum amount that will be awarded to an individual group is $500.00.

Please forward all requests to:
